Recently, AFE 168 had our very first AFE Day at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.

We wanted to take the time and thank all attended and supported AFE’s very first AFE Day on Friday, October 19, 2018 in the Webb Center and Kaufman Hall Building at Old Dominion University.

AFE Day is an outreach event with a focus on students and young professionals on college and university campuses. This event gives advice about mentorship, expectations in the field, Q & A and allows for networking with our panel of certified and tenured experts. We have social media interactions with live streams and forums on our Facebook and LinkedIn pages. We have a booth in the Engineering colleges to allow those who could not attend the panel to still have information about our organization. We are planning more events and interactions for our upcoming AFE Days.

From the start of planning until the end, we truly appreciate all the enthusiasm shown for our day of

When we combine America and Facilities - Facilities America® is a venue where involving our members (and future members) is an everlasting learning experience.

When it comes to protecting a building's occupants from airborne dangers within the building and from outside which are attempting to come in, your building has an immune system similar to that of your own. Your building has two lines of defense, yet it is the building owner, manager, or facility engineer that determines the strength of that immunity.

In today’s politically-correct setting, there
are many words that we [should] feel guilty
to utter. So, how do we get around that?
Simple...we just use the first letter and add
“word” after it as in “F-word” and, incredibly,
everyone from the local clergyman to the youngest
school student knows what it means.
