Benefits of an AFE Membership

Banking

AFE Members and their families are eligible to join the State Department Federal Credit Union.  SDFCU offers a host of banking options including checking and savings accounts plus credit cards, and AFE Members can access it all!

Networking

Our Members tell us one of the most valuable benefits of belonging to AFE is the ability to network with other industry professionals.  Becoming involved in AFE pays off when you need it most.  As a Member of AFE, you will be able to solve problems and find answers to technical problems through a number of networking avenues.

Chapters

Join a local chapter and network with other professionals in the facilities industry. Local chapters provide programming to specifically meet the local facility's community needs.  Plant and sporting venue tours are frequently scheduled to display what some of the most exicting facilities are implementing as best practices.  Speakers bring a local perspective to topics of interest.  And, of course, by meeting with others in your area you will build a personal and professional network of contacts and friends who will be there when you need help.

Peer-to-Peer Resources

Need to find someone with some specific expertise?  Log on to the members-only area at AFE.org and look up another Member who can help you using the AFE Member Directory.  Moreover, AFE Members can also find information or best practice advice shared by other working professionals, solution providers and industry observers through the AFE Ask the Experts online communities.

Certifications & Professional Development

Did you know that by becoming a Certified Professional Maintenance Manager (CPMM), Certified Plant Engineer (CPE), or Certified Professional Supervisor (CPS), you could earn up to $11,000 more a year?  It is true. Our research has shown that Members demonstrating knowledge with AFE's certification programs earn more than those without a certification.  AFE offers Members discounts on educational events tailored to your professional and personal needs.
