Ed is the current RVP and Secretary on the Region 8 Board of Directors.
Ed has been a member of AFE Granite State Chapter 140 for the last 30-1/2 years and has served as President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice President and is currently President again for 2021.
Ed Gagnon served as the Vice Chair of Professional Development on the AFE National Board of Directors and as the Industry Director on the AFE National Board of Directors.
Ed is also an Official AFE Professional Development (PD) Instructor, providing instruction for the CPE, CPMM and CPS programs.
Ed Gagnon is also the Treasurer for the US Green Building Council New Hampshire chapter since 2011.
Ed is a member of the Association of Energy Engineers New England chapter.
Ed is also a board member on the Maine Maritime Academy Alumni Association Board of Directors.
He graduated from Maine Maritime Academy with a BS in Marine Engineering and went into commercial shipping on the Great Lakes and deep sea for 4 years. He left the shipping industry and went into nuclear power for a few years, then into forest products, he then went into the paper industry working for paper mills as a plant engineer and worked for a paper industry engineering firm as a project manager for nearly 15 years.
Mr. Gagnon was a Facility Manager for BAE Systems, Inc., managing three of their defense manufacturing/testing facilities in southern New Hampshire for 17 years, retiring in the summer of 2017 after a total of 39 years in the engineering fields.
He has a 1st Class Stationary Engineers license with the State of Maine, and holds the Certified Plant Engineer (CPE), Certified Professional Maintenance Manager (CPMM) and the Certified Professional Supervisor (CPS) certifications through AFE and the Certified Energy Manager (CEMr) and Certified Energy Auditor (CEAr) certifications through AEE. Ed lives in Francestown, NH with his wife Nancy, has three grown children, two grandchildren and two dogs.
