Raul Aviles Jr is a professional engineer and Certified Plant Engineer® (CPE) with over 30 years of experience in the field of facilities, maintenance, engineering, and consulting.  He is currently the Chief Operating Officer for AECOM LATAM, responsible for the operation of the Latin America Consulting and Engineering Business.  Prior to joining AECOM, Raul was the Vice President and Delivery Director for CDM Smith, responsible for Construction, Engineering, Consulting and Facility Operations for the West Coast of the United States.

 

Raul earned an executive MBA from the University of Arizona, a MS in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez.  Mr. Aviles has published several articles in Energy Management and Conservation and was part of the Editor’s staff of the Energy Conservation in Water and Wastewater Facilities - WEF Manual of Practice No. 32. WEF Press 2009.

 

Mr. Aviles is passionate about STEM Education and has served for many years on the Grand Jury for the Intel ISEF Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix AZ. Raul has been a member for the Association of Facilities Engineering (AFE) since 2011.
