AFE 6 Chapter Meeting & Presentation

Preventive Maintenance: Help your Bottom Line

Preventive maintenance (PM) is a component of any successful maintenance program. In the November meeting, we will discuss ways to maximize a PM program and get the best return on the company’s maintenance investment.

Dean A. Wallace – CPEe, CPMMe, will be the discussion moderator. Dean’s experience in facilities maintenance and as a consultant have given him good insight into how to manage a successful PM program.

Prior to his retirement, Dean was the owner of Applied Facility Solutions, Inc., a facilities management consulting company. He provided consulting services on many construction projects in the Philadelphia area, including Wells Fargo Center expansion, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania-Center for Advanced Medicine, Einstein (East Norriton) Hospital, and the Barnes Foundation. He also provided consulting services for a long-term project at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

He worked 25 years in Merck and Co’s maintenance department; the last 15 as director of maintenance and repair for a 400- acre site.

Dean has been a long-term member of Chapter 6, having served as president, vice president, secretary, and currently serves as program director. His contributions to AFE were honored when he was named AFE Fellow in 2021. He is also an instructor of the CPE Review Course
