OVERVIEW

For more than 55 years, the AFE 39 – Silicon Valley Professional Chapter has connected industry leaders and students through its Day with a Facilities Professional (DWFP) program. AFE intends to grow DWFP into an international program. This Spring, AFE will host the DWFP events in select locations across the United States in a week-long series of activities focused on engaging students and young professionals exploring career opportunities in the facilities management arena. To that end, the first annual AFE Emerging Professionals Week (Emerging Pros Week) will kick-off with a virtual opening plenary session on Sunday, April 3rd. On April 7th, the AFE Home Office will team with the AFE 13 - Twin Cities Professional Chapter to host the DWFP Twin Cities program together with a one-day conference for young professionals. Attendees can participate in Emerging Pros Week either in-person or remotely through the AFE virtual conference platform, AFE Ask the Experts powered by TradeWing.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS

Attendees who complete the professional education track sessions can earn up to four continuing education credits (AECs). Attendees will receive one AEC for each hour-long session or ½ AEC for each thirty-minute session attended. At the conclusion of the conference, attendees can request a certificate documenting the award of their AECs by emailing a request to our Meetings & Events Team.

2022 AFE Emerging Professionals Week (Emerging Pros Week 2022) ALL Access registration – i.e. general admission – includes access to: (i) the Emerging Proessioanls Reception; (ii) the professional education track sessions; and (iii) the Brown Bag Lunch & Learn offered onsite at the Loews Minneapolis Hotel as well as through the AFE virtual conference platform. Ed Access serves as the virtual attendance option that provides remote access to the professional education track sessions. All Emerging Pros Week 2022 professional education track sessions will be open to the public. Day with a Facilities Professional (DWFP) activities, however, will be limited to students, exhibitors, speakers and volunteers.

Cancellation Policy:

Event Registration Cancellations:

Cancellations must be submitted to AFE in writing. The date / time stamp on the registrant’s email serves as the date of written notice of cancellation and will, therefore, be considered the official cancellation date. Attendees who cancel on or before 26 March 2022 will receive a full refund less a $15 processing fee. Registration fees are non-refundable after 26 March 2022.

Exhibitor & Sponsorship Cancellations:

Cancellations must be submitted to AFE in writing. The date of receipt of supporter’s written notice of cancellation will be the official cancellation date. Exhibitors who cancel on or before 26 March 2022 will receive a full refund less a $225 processing fee. Sponsors who cancel on or before 26 March 2022 will receive a refund equal to 85% of the total sponsorship fee. Exhibitor and sponsorship fees are nonrefundable after 26 March 2022.

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to meetings@afe.org. Requests for cancellations will not be accepted via telephone. Substitutions are allowed without fee at any time.

AFE Foundation Scholarship Breakfast & Silent Auction

Details:

The AFE Foundation (AFEF) will host its second annual scholarship breakfast during Emerging Pros Week 2022. In addition to fellow-shipping among colleagues and peers, we will also host a special silent auction to benefit the foundation’s programs and initiatives. The AFE Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, seeks to advance research and education in engineering and other scientific fields related to the built environment by funding research, granting scholarships, and sponsoring educational events. Please follow this link to find out more about the AFE Foundation and how you can contribute. Proceeds from this luncheon and silent auction will be used to provide scholarships to engineering students seeking careers in facilities management in various locations around the world. Attendees will be addressed by the Chairperson of the AFEF Board of Directors plus the breakfast keynote speaker. The AFE Foundation Scholarship Breakfast & Silent Auction will be held in-person at the Loews Minneapolis Hotel and streamed live via our virtual conference platform.
